TIDEFLAT, back to the harbour

TIDEFLAT · shooting script
The harbour as a miniature on a wooden table in a dark studio. Work lamps, black flags on stands, a small camera on a slider aimed at the lobster puppet, a field monitor showing the shot, an empty stool with a grey cardigan.

2INT. STAGE 4 – THE FLATEYRI TABLES – CONTINUOUS2

Pull back, and the harbour is a tabletop. Shoebox houses. A resin sea. Cotton-wool clouds on wires.

The Flateyri sets stand on trestles under work lamps. Black flags, stands, a camera on a slider. The field monitor shows the shot you were just in.

KLÓI, twenty-four centimetres tall, waits at his panel.

An empty stool. A grey cardigan over its back. On the dope sheet, in marker: BACK IN 5. DON'T TOUCH THE LOBSTER.

The brass rule reads 1:6.

TAKE THE SHOT at the animation bench. Each table is a way back into its set: THE HARBOUR, THE STREET, THE HALL, THE WORKSHOP, THE PORCH, THE LIGHTHOUSE, THE FLAT. PULL BACK shows the whole studio.
